TAWS Visual Annunciations and Voice Alerts
The system issues alerts when flight conditions meet parameters that are set within TAWS software algorithms. The system issues terrain/obstacle alerts as a caution or warning severity level. Alerts include visual annunciations and voice alerts.
When the system issues an alert, annunciations appear on the PFW and the map. The PFW shows the annunciation to the right of the airspeed tape and displays the alert in a Terrain Alert window below the HSI. The potential impact areas are displayed on the MFW 'Map'.
Voice Alerts (or Voice Call Outs (VCOs)) will be heard from 500 feet down to 50 feet and if a radio altimeter is installed and configured VCOs will continue below 50 feet down to one foot.

For single pilot aircraft the 'Split COM' function will remove aural alerts from the passenger and co-pilot headsets.
