Setting a Geofence

The OnDeck™ alarm notifications feature is supplemental and should not be relied upon as a primary method to monitor your vessel. The functionality, reliability, and timeliness of the alarm notifications depend on a number of factors that are beyond Garmin^®'s control, including but not limited to cellular connectivity/reception and device power.

You can enable the system to send you an alarm notification when the vessel enters or exits a specific area.

From the ActiveCaptain^® app, select Chart.
Select .

A window appears at the bottom of the screen.
In the window at the bottom of the screen, select Geofence Alarm.
Select an option:
- To receive a notification when the vessel enters the area, select When Entering.
- To receive a notification when the vessel leaves the area, select When Leaving.
Select Radius, and drag the circle to adjust the size of the area.
Select to save the geofence.

When the vessel's position, as reported to the server, enters or exits the geofence, you will receive an alarm notification.
