Incident Messaging
The device allows you to send your location to an emergency contact. This is a supplemental feature and should not be relied upon as a primary method to obtain emergency assistance. The Garmin Drive™ app does not contact emergency services on your behalf.
To use this feature, your camera must be connected to an active LTE subscription, you must enter emergency contacts into the Garmin Drive app on your smartphone, and you must enable Incident Detection on the Garmin Drive app on your smartphone. This feature is supplemental and should not be relied upon as a primary method to monitor or secure your vehicle.
Your Garmin Dash Cam™ driving recorder uses built-in sensors to detect a possible vehicle incident and sends an automated text message to your emergency contacts. This can be useful if you are not able to call or send a message in an emergency situation.
