Enabling Garmin Locate Tracking

NOTICE

Before you can enable the Garmin Locate feature for your watch, you must set up your trusted contacts in the Garmin Messenger app on your phone. Your paired phone connected to your fēnix watch or fēnix Pro - inReach watch with an active inReach service plan must be in an area of network coverage where data is available. Your contacts must be able to receive emails or text messages (standard text messaging rates may apply).

  1. On your paired phone, open the Garmin Messenger app (Garmin Messenger App).
  2. Select your profile picture, and select Locate.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to add your trusted contacts.

When you consent to Garmin Locate tracking, the feature is automatically enabled on your paired watch. To disable this feature, you can hold , and select Watch Settings > Safety & Tracking > Garmin Locate > Auto Share Location > Off.
