Biking Activity Profiles
Each time you ride with the Edge biking computer, you are prompted to select an activity profile. Each activity profile stores training settings, routing options, and display preferences optimized for the activity. You should select the activity profile based on the type of ride or road surface (Updating Your Activity Profile).
Enduro MTB: This is a mountain bike profile that specifically tracks ascents and descents separately on unpaved terrain, and records descent GPS in 5Hz if enabled (5Hz Data Recording). You manually press the
button as you transition between climbs and descents, and the bike computer displays a notification summarizing the completed split. You can enable Auto Pause settings for the climb and descent portions of the ride. This activity profile also tracks trail difficulty, and the map provides shaded relief and contours by default.
Downhill MTB: You should use this profile if you are riding a ski lift or transporting your bike uphill, and riding your bike downhill. This profile tracks descents on unpaved terrain, and records descent GPS in 5Hz if enabled. A downhill descent is called a run, and after each run, the bike computer displays a notification with run summary data. Activity summary totals do not include any ascent data. This activity profile also tracks trail difficulty, and the map provides shaded relief and contours by default.
Tour: This activity profile is ideal for navigating to specific destinations on mixed terrain surfaces. For example, if you create a route that includes trails mixed with roadside attractions or campgrounds.
Indoor: The bike computer includes an indoor activity profile where GPS is turned off. Select this profile if you are training indoors or want to save battery life. When GPS is turned off, speed and distance are not available unless you have a compatible sensor or indoor trainer that sends speed and distance data to the device (Wireless Sensors).
