Syncing Data to Devices Using File Based Configuration

The File Based Configuration option allows you to use either a USB cable or a microSD® card to apply changes to the device. The File Based Configuration option supports GPSMAP® 66i and newer devices.

  1. From the Update & Sync tab, select the File Based Configuration tab.
  2. Select a profile (Creating a Profile).
  3. If necessary, add contacts.
  4. If necessary, add a group (Creating a Group).
  5. Select Keep the configuration file after updating if you are updating multiple devices.

    This option allows you to store the configuration file on a microSD card after the update.

  6. Click Export File.
  7. Follow the on-screen instructions on the File Based Configuration tab to configure a device.
