Once you have installed your unlock code(s), you can save them into an unlock file. b>
To do this, follow these step-by-step instructions:
- Open MapSource.
- Open the Unlock Wizard (either with CTRL + U or under "Utilities/Unlock Maps"). Click "Next".
- Under the section that states "If you are an existing Garmin customer", choose "Backup my unlock codes to a file". Click "Next".
- Save this file to a separate location where you can find it later (for example, "My Documents").
In the event you have to uninstall MapSource and have a locked MapSource product, you can retrieve any unlock codes by reinstalling MapSource and opening this file.
To reinstall your unlock codes using MapSource, follow these step-by-step instructions:
- Open MapSource.
- Open the Unlock Wizard (either with CTRL + U or under "Utilities/Unlock Maps"). Click "Next".
- Under the section that states "If you are an existing Garmin customer", choose "Retrieve and reinstall all my unlock codes". Click "Next".
- Choose "Retrieve my unlock codes from a file on my PC". Click "Next".
- Point your computer to where you saved the .unl file previously. Choose it and follow the prompts.
