Notes:
- This download contains a free non-routable basemap for use with the Garmin Mobile XT application for Windows Mobile, Palm or Symbian OS software.
- This download does NOT contain the application files required to run Garmin Mobile XT. Select the appropriate download for your device from the Updates and Downloads page (ie. Palm, Symbian or Windows Mobile) and add these files to your SD card.
- This download does NOT contain supporting files such as voice and help files. Select the appropriate download from the Updates and Downloads page and add these files to your SD card.
- Detailed maps are not included and must be purchased separately.
- A minimum card size of 256 MB is recommended for Garmin Mobile XT software with maps.

Installation Instructions
- As with any software update, you should always create a backup of the data on your device before beginning. Please see the information provided in the user manual for your device for more information.
- USB to SD card reader (applicable for most Symbian OS devices - some Nokia phones offer 'Data Transfer' mode when connected to the PC and will allow the phone act like a USB card reader):
- Insert an SD or other card into an external card reader.
- Select the 'Download' link found on this web page.
- Select to 'Run' or 'Save' the file. Selecting 'Run' will immediately launch the install program. Selecting 'Save', will save the file to your PC and require you to launch the install program from the saved location.
- Follow the directions provided when running the downloaded program and directions provided on the device display to complete the file update.
- USB connection to a Palm OS device:
- Select the 'Download' link found on this web page.
- Select to 'Run' or 'Save' the file. Selecting 'Run' will immediately launch the install program. Selecting 'Save', will save the file to your PC and require you to launch the install program from the saved location.
- Follow the directions provided when running the downloaded program and directions provided on the device display to complete the file update.
- USB connection to a Windows Mobile device:
- Close all open applications on your WM device.
- Insert an SD or other card into your WM device.
- Connect your device to your PC via USB. Ensure ActiveSync is running and connected.
- Select the 'Download' link found on this web page.
- Select to 'Run' or 'Save' the file. Selecting 'Run' will immediately launch the install program. Selecting 'Save', will save the file to your PC and require you to launch the install program from the saved location.
- Follow the directions provided when running the downloaded program and directions provided on the device display to complete the file update.
- You will need to keep the card inserted in your device for the voice, help and basemap files. This card can also be used to hold your detailed maps. Run MapSource or MapInstall on your PC to select and save detailed maps to your data card.
System requirements
- IBM-compatible PC running Windows XP or later operating system and an available USB port.
