Established in 1963, Park Ellis ServiceMaster, a full service cleaning and disaster restoration company, needed a GPS fleet tracking and dispatching solution to monitor service vehicles and better communicate with its drivers. With 2 offices and 15 vehicles in its fleet, Jeff Amstutz, operations manager for Park Ellis ServiceMaster, knew the potential benefits and cost savings a GPS fleet tracking solution could provide his organization.
Amstutz researched several GPS fleet tracking solutions and GPS-enabled smartphones before selecting the NexTraq Fleet Tracking solution due to its ease of use and value. “The NexTraq platform proved to be the most economical solution for our organization and I knew we could achieve substantial savings in fuel, maintenance and operational costs,” he said.
The FleetEyes application is fully integrated with GEM Ambulance’s current CAD system, while the AirLink devices provide the cellular and Wi-Fi connectivity for critical two-way data transfer of information, such as vehicle location and speed. By allowing centralized dispatch personnel to run transportation instructions through the AirLink devices, which in turn deliver the information to in-vehicle Garmin navigation devices, any data entry errors are corrected to eliminate the possibility of bad location information reaching drivers in the field.
The Challenge: Straight Line Plumbing had the all too common issue of how to get their service technicians to their jobs quickly and efficiently. Accomplishing this without wasting time in finding the job location and having to make multiple calls to and from the office was always a difficult task.
The Solution: TSO Mobile implemented solution(s) whereby their existing billing and dispatch system ties into TSO's innovative, on-line software. Now, dispatchers simply do order entry into their system and effortlessly all data is delivered in cabin to the driver. The Garmin Navigation Device then guides the driver to the destination all the while providing detailed feedback of driver position, ETA, and order status directly to the TSO Mobile Web interface and simultaneously to Straight line's billing-dispatch software. This saves time and money by reducing miles driven, improving service to their customers, lowering their insurance rates, and improving overall operations.
The Challenge: Allied Mechanical was using cellular phones to communicate work orders and track their field technicians. This proved to not meet their needs efficiently and they needed a more robust system that would lend accurate tracking along with in cabin communication. The requirement was a system that would track vehicles live, dispatch work orders to field techs, and receive live status updates on those work orders.
The Solution: TSO Mobile deployed its fleet mobility director service utilizing Garmin navigation devices which encompasses state-of-the-art GPS tracking, work order, and fleet management. Allied assisted in developing and refining the work orders system within the TSO Mobile Application by providing valuable insight into their day-to-day operations.
Today all of Allied Mechanical's work orders are inputted into the TSO Mobile application. Live work order statuses are tracked from when they are received at the Garmin right through to when they are marked completed at the job site. This technology has streamlined the entire workflow process and become an integral part of their dispatch operations.
