Garmin Mobile XT is an easy, plug-and-play solution that transforms your Smartphone into a turn-by-turn navigator. No subscription is required, and detailed maps, POIs and navigation software are all pre-loaded on a Micro data card with Mini/SD adaptors.
For developers wishing to incorporate Garmin Mobile XT into an existing application, Garmin offers a set of SDKs across Windows Mobile, Palm, and Symbian operating systems.
These SDKs provide your application with access to GPS information, map interaction, and routing by leveraging Garmin's software on the same mobile device. Garmin Mobile XT is compatible with devices that include embedded GPS or paired to a GPS receiver via USB/Serial connection. ( NMEA 0183 data format)
For those devices requiring GPS signal as well, customers and application providers can pair Garmin Mobile XT with one of Garmin's Bluetooth hardware packages including Garmin Mobile 10 For Smartphones or Garmin Mobile 20.
