Traffic Alert

The GTM 10 is an FM-band receiver that works with compatible Garmin GPS units to display traffic events and enable rerouting. The FM TMC traffic information is received through radio signals transmitted by independent service providers.

Traffic Message Channel

The Traffic Message Channel (TMC) is a specific application of FM Radio Data used for broadcasting real-time traffic and weather information. TMC traffic alerting works on a “silent” FM sideband signal – which means that drivers can still listen to music or news programming on their car radios, without interference from the incoming FM traffic data transmissions.
