"Mariner uses GPSMAP 182C on Goldwing motorcycle too"
I have a 34-foot sailboat (a Pacific Seacraft "Crealock"), which is well-equipped with radar, LORAN, GPS, etc. When your new color model GPSMAP 182 came on the market, I knew the time had come to upgrade. I am delighted with the product and have digital photos of it on my sailboat.

My purpose in writing however, is to tell you how great the 182C is on my motorcycle. I have a large touring bike, a Honda Goldwing. I mounted it to my bike with a velcro arrangement and used a stub antenna from a Garmin GPS 75 portable GPS. I then downloaded land maps from MapSource MetroGuide and took the bike for a spin. I can't tell you how great it is. Because of the large screen and the fact that the tracker arrow is always in the middle of the screen, I can easily follow the track with only an occasional glance at the unit.

GPSMAP 182C testimonial image
In June, I rode the bike to the AMERICADE rally in Lake George, NY. From that base, I led friends on tours around the green mountains of Vermont. The unit is incredible! Using close-up ranges (.5 mile and less), the unit would warn me (us) of upcoming short turns and crossroads, etc. It's a great safety device and a wonderful toy (er, tool).

Regards,
J. L.
