I have been in the Army for almost 16 years now. I recently returned from Operation Iraqi Freedom. While I was over there I used my GPS 72 a lot. I had a marine mount that I mounted to my HMWWV (Hummer) door. I had to fabricate a base for this to mount on to. I had my dc cigaratte lighter adapter for continious power. My GPS 72 was a life saver. I tracked sattelites more than anyone else in my platoon. I was the platoon sergeant and needed the dependablity of the GPS. Not many others had civilian GPSs, but I am completely sold on Garmins. I have owned a total of three and currently own a GPS 72 and a GPS V. I am happy about the quality that Garmin offers. Over in Iraq, my life did depend on accuracy, and there was no room for error. The accuracy and dependability of my Garmin did save lives. When things went sour, I was able to get the choppers in the air and give them accurate grids in a timely manner to get guys evacuated out so they could get prompt medical treatment. I use my Garmin f or driving, hunting and whatever I need. Thanks Garmin for a great product. I am forever sold.
