Q. Can I use an external keyboard with my iQue 3200/3600?
A. Garmin does not recommend any specific external keyboards with the iQue 3200 and 3600, but many customers have had success using the Palm Ultra Thin Keyboard with both the iQue 3200 and 3600.
Keyboards that are compatible with the Palm Tungsten T3 should also work with the iQue 3200 and 3600 because of software and hardware similarities.
Q. How do I delete a "recently found place" in my iQue 3200/3600?
A. Access QueFind and tap the "Recent Finds" icon with your stylus. Highlight the Recent Finds item you wish to remove from the list. (This will not remove addresses or waypoints from your unit permanently.) Tap QueFind (in the upper-left corner of the display) with your stylus, exposing the drop-down menu. Tap "Delete Selected Item". This will removed the item from the list.
Q. How can I find a point of interest that is near a location other than my current location?
A. Access the QueFind application (the magnifying glass icon/soft button at the bottom of the screen). Next, tap the "All Points of Interest" icon. In the drop-down menu beneath QueFind, select "Near Other". Use the map to tap on the location you wish to use as the center of the All Points of Interest search, and tap "Done". This will bring up a list of the points of interest nearest to the location you selected on the map.
Q. Is the iQue 3000/3200/3600 compatible with Apple Macintosh computers?
A. Garmin now offers a Palm Desktop for the Mac that is compatible with Mac OS X and above. This is a basic Palm desktop application only. Garmin MapSource options are only available in a Windows format. In the future, Garmin will offer a solution so Mac computers can work with Garmin devices in 2007.
Q. Can I use a WiFi card with my iQue 3xxx Palm unit to get access to the internet?
A. The iQue Palm devices are not compatible with WiFi SD I/O cards.
Q. Will my GPS unit float?
A. Currently, Garmin produces eight GPS models that have the ability to float in water. Those units are:

Q. My iQue 3200/3600 has 32 MB of internal memory. When I attempt to load 20 MB of map detail, I receive an error log after synchronization indicating that I exceeded the memory limit of the internal storage. Why is this happening?
A. The 32 MB of internal memory storage is not solely dedicated to the mapping software that came with your unit. The Palm OS on your unit takes up about 10 MB of memory alone. During your initial HotSync, your basemap, voice-guidance files, and other initial Palm applications install, taking away another 6 MB of space. This leaves slightly over 14 MB of storage space for any other applications or maps. Any other software applications loaded to your iQue will take up additional internal memory. To check the amount of memory in use and the amount available in the iQue, access the "All" menu, then tap the Option soft button in the bottom left-hand corner of the iQue. (It is the second button from the left, next to the Home icon that looks like a house.) The App menu and the Options menu will appear. Make sure the App menu is selected, and choose "Info". You will see a statement at the top of the Info screen, such as "Free Space: 2.8M of 22.8M".
Q. My iQue displays a message that says, ?The connection between your handheld computer and the desktop could not be established. Please check your setup and try again.? Why can?t I HotSync?
A. The first thing to check is to make sure you have the USB connector plugged in to your computer correctly. Once you have done this, you may need to start the HotSync Manager application by selecting Start/Programs/Palm Desktop/HotSync Manager on your PC. Then press the HotSync button on the iQue cradle to synchronize. If you are still having trouble with the HotSync process, you may need to reload the drivers for the HotSync process.
You can set these correctly by going to the Control Panel on your computer and then going to the System Icon (Windows XP users will need to make sure they are viewing Classic Mode in their control panel). Inside of here, you can go to your Device Manager. There could either be a Device Manager tab or a Hardware Tab with the Device Manager as a button on that tab. Once inside the Device Manager, HotSync the unit. When you do this, you should see a device appear in the Device Manager under Other Devices named Palm Handheld. Double-click on Palm Handheld and then go to the Driver Tab and select Update or Install Driver. This process should fix any HotSync problems you are having.
Q. Am I able to load MP3s directly into the iQue 3600?s internal memory?
A. MP3s cannot be loaded directly into the internal memory of the unit.
MP3s can be loaded to an external SD card that can be placed in the expansion slot on the iQue 3600 or in a card reader. You can also load MP3 files through a Palm desktop using the Palm Install application, or drag and drop them onto the SD/MMC card using an aftermarket card programmer (readily available at most electronics stores). The card reader, when properly installed, will appear with a drive letter designation within Microsoft's Windows Explorer on your computer. If you're using the Palm Install application, the files will be transferred to the card when you perform your next HotSync.
Q. Will all my current Palm applications work with the iQue 3200/3600?
A. Most applications designed for the Palm OS will work. And most applications that are designed to operate on Palm version 5.0 will be compatible with the iQue. Of course, Garmin has not tested every program, and we cannot make any guarantees that all programs will be compatible with the iQue, including applications designed for previous Palm versions. Please check with the software provider to determine if the program you are interested in is compatible with the iQue.
Q. Does the iQue antenna have to be flipped all the way up to receive satellites?
A. The antenna will receive satellites as long as it is not locked in the closed position and has a clear view of the sky. It is adjustable to three different positions for satellite reception.
For the best reception, the antenna should be parallel to the ground as you hold it or as it sits in your vehicle. For example, in the vehicle mount, the antenna should be at a 90-degree angle to the iQue.
Q. Can I download more than one basemap at a time onto the iQue 3200/3600 from the setup disk?
A. The iQue 3200/3600 can only use one basemap at a time. You can download one of the Lite basemaps from the setup CD to the internal memory or a SD/MMC external data card. Or you can load one of the standard basemaps or the Worldwide basemap to a SD/MMC card. You can load different basemaps on different cards and swap cards as needed.
Q. What type of battery does the iQue 3200/3600 have?
A. The iQue uses an internal lithium-ion rechargeable battery. In order to recharge this battery, place the iQue in the cradle with the AC power supply attached. You may also plug the AC power supply directly into the iQue itself, bypassing the cradle. Two accessories, the Auto Navigation Kit and the Travel Kit, also provide means of recharging the lithium-ion battery. The Auto Navigation Kit includes the Automotive Mount with a remote 12-volt charger and speaker system, while the Travel Kit includes an AC travel charger. The battery is not accessible to the user. If it needs to be replaced, the unit must be sent to the Garmin Service Facility (1-800-800-1020).
Q. What is the best way to clean the display on my iQue?
A. Use a soft lint-free cloth. The cloth may be used dry, dampened with a mild detergent solution, or dampened with ethanol. Be sure cloth is only dampened, not wet. When using ethanol, avoid contact with the edges of the film or glass and with the flex tail. Wipe the surface gently. If there is a directional surface texture, wipe in the same direction as the texture.
Please note: Never use acidic or alkaline detergents, or organic solvents such as paint thinner, acetone, tolulene, xylene, propyl alchohol, or kerosene.
Q. What is the proper way to place the iQue into?or remove it from?its cradle?
A. Align the iQue with the angle of cradle and insert the unit directly into the cradle. To remove the iQue, pull the unit forward (in a more vertical position) and lift it from the cradle. This technique provides a locking connection between the iQue and the cradle.
Q. How do I find the internal Unit ID number for my iQue 3200/3600?
A. From one of the Menu pages (i.e. All, Main, Que, System), access the App menu by either tapping with your stylus in the upper-left corner of the LCD or selecting the Option menu soft button near the bottom of the LCD. Then select "Info" from the App menu. Select "Version" to display the internal Unit ID. The first four characters (0G36) are required by Palm. Garmin will only ask you for the 10-digit number following the dash, particularly when unlocking other maps for your iQue.
Q. How do I get my saved waypoint data from my iQue 3600 into my new iQue M5?
A. At this time, waypoints cannot be automatically transferred from the iQue 3600 to the iQue M5. An alternative method is to use MapSource to manually create a new waypoint using the coordinates from the iQue 3600. The waypoint can then be transferred to the iQue M5 from MapSource.
- What are "My Locations"?
Q. Where do I connect the external antenna to the iQue?
A. The external antenna (GA 27C) connects to the top of the iQue. There is a small round rubber cap to the right of the SD card slot, near the stylus. Lift the rubber cap, and you will see the MCX connection that the external antenna plugs into.
Q. What is a Waypoint?
A. Waypoints are locations or landmarks worth recording and storing in your GPS. These are locations you may later want to return to. They may be check points on a route or significant ground features. (e.g., camp, the truck, a fork in a trail, or a favorite fishing spot).
Waypoints may be defined and stored in the unit manually, by taking coordinates for the waypoint from a map or other reference. This can be done before ever leaving home. Or more usually, waypoints may be entered directly by taking a reading with the unit at the location itself, giving it a name, and then saving the point.
Waypoints may also be put into the unit by referencing another waypoint already stored, giving the reference waypoint, and entering the distance and compass bearing to the new waypoint.

Q. Do I have to use the Map Install application within Palm Desktop to install maps onto my iQue 3200/3600?
A. No. MapSource may also be used to install maps. (Please note that MapSource does not come with the iQue's City Select software.) If you already have MapSource installed on your computer, you will be able to select maps within MapSource and create a mapset that will be transferred to the iQue the next time you perform a HotSync. Because only the latest version of MapSource (version 5.0 or higher) possesses this ability, you may need to download the most current version of MapSource.
Q. How do I change my routing preferences for my iQue 3200/3600?
A. Access the System menu, and select "Preferences". Then, select "Que" from the drop-down menu in the upper left-hand corner. Next, select "Routing" from the drop-down menu that appears below ?Preferences?. You'll be able to customize the "Route Preference", "Calculate Routes For...", and "Avoid" settings.
Q. How do I input coordinates for a waypoint I wish to create?
A. Press and hold in the Thumb Wheel on the left side of the iQue 3600 until you see the ?Mark Waypoint? box, and then tap "Edit". Next, tap "Location", and then tap "Show Info". Now, tap within the Location field. You'll be asked ?How would you like to change the location?? Select "Manual" if you would like to use the Graffiti pad, "Find" if you would like to utilize the QueFind application, and "Map" if you would like to use the white arrow cursor to select the location.
Q. How do I create a new route?
A. Click on "QueFind" (the magnifying glass icon/soft button at the bottom of the screen). Choose one of the options to locate a destination. Once you have found the location to which you would like to navigate, tap "Route To". The unit will automatically create a route to the location.
Q. How do I delete programs from my iQue 3200/3600?
A. Access the Option menu from one of the menu pages, such as "All" or "Main", by either tapping the time or selecting one of the two soft "Option" buttons at the bottom of the screen. Next, select "Delete" from the Option menu. Tap the name of the program you would like to delete, and tap "Delete".
Q. Can I install other MapSource products, such as U.S. Topo, on my iQue 3200/3600. If so, how do I do that?
A. Yes. There are two methods of loading maps on your iQue.
1. Once you have installed the iQue software, including City Select and Palm Desktop/HotSync, you can install detailed maps using "Map Install" (found within Palm Desktop). If you have purchased a second MapSource product, such as U.S. Topo, you may install these maps via Map Install as well. After launching the Map Install application, select one of several installed MapSource products, such as U.S. Topo or City Select, from the drop-down menu above the maps. Selecting maps in this manner will allow you to create a list (shown to the right of the maps) of the different types of maps that have been installed. Use the Map Tool to select the maps you wish to download by clicking on each map. The maps will now be highlighted pink. Once you have chosen all of the maps you wish to save, click "Next" and select the user name and destination for the maps: SD/MMC or internal. Map Install will prepare the maps to be installed the next time you perform a HotSync. Now, with the iQue on the HotSync cradle and the cradle plugged into a USB port, press the HotSync button on the cradle. The maps will be installed.
2. If you have purchased and installed a second MapSource product, you may select these maps, as well as City Select maps, within MapSource for synchronization with the iQue. You must first ensure that you have updated MapSource to version 5.0 or higher. From the drop-down menu above the maps, you may choose the particular MapSource product you would like to select. Utilize the Map Tool to select the individual maps for synchronization. Once they're selected, the maps will turn pink and their names will appear on the Map Tab to the left. Once you have selected several maps for synchronization, click on the File menu and select "Save To". Then choose either "Storage Card Reader" or the iQue. MapSource will create the necessary map file that will be synchronized with the iQue or saved to the card reader the next time you perform a HotSync.
Q. How do I find what maps have been loaded onto the iQue 3200/3600?
A. Access "Que Map" from the Que menu page, and select the "Options" soft button near the bottom-left corner of the screen. Then, select "Preferences" on the "Options" tab and "Detailed Maps" from the drop-down menu in the upper-right corner of the screen. You will see a list of the maps you have chosen to install.
Q. How many waypoints can the iQue hold?
A. The number of waypoints that can be stored in the iQue is limited only by the amount of memory you have in the unit because waypoints are assigned a name and location, and then stored as a contact. You can create waypoints until you run out of memory.
Q. Is my iQue 3200/3600 Bluetooth compatible?
A. The iQue is not Bluetooth compatible. This capability will be explored in the future with the development of products that may be based on open mobile computing platforms, including those enabled with Bluetooth technology and other wireless capabilities.
Q. How can I find out the amount of internal memory I have available on my iQue 3200/3600 for storage and how much room I have left on my SD card?
A. You can find the internal memory available by choosing "System" from the "Categories" pull-down menu in the upper-right corner. From the system menu, use the pull-down option in the lower-left corner and chose "Info" to see the internal memory. On this same page, you can view the memory available on the SD card by clicking the pull-down menu next to "Device". You can also find SD card information by going to "All" or "System menu", and choosing "Card Info".
Q. What is WAAS?
A. WAAS stands for the "Wide Area Augmentation System".
WAAS is an FAA-funded project designed to improve the overall accuracy and integrity of GPS signals for flying in instrument meteorological conditions, primarily during the approach and landing phases of flight. It is a space-based system that broadcasts integrity information and correction data as determined by ground reference stations. At this time, the system is still in the development stage. The goal is to provide reliable signals with an accuracy of seven meters (21-22 ft), both horizontally and vertically, 95+% of the time. Current tests show the actual accuracy to be on the order of 2-3 meters. See http://gps.faa.gov/Programs/WAAS/waas.htm for more information.
For those GPS units that are WAAS enabled, a second antenna is not necessary to receive the signal.
Q. Is the iQue waterproof?
A. Unlike most GPS units that Garmin has introduced, the iQue 3600 does not have a waterproof rating. The iQue is not recommended for use in, or near, water.
Q. Can I perform real-time tracking with my iQue and a laptop computer?
A. The Garmin iQue does not have the capability of performing real-time tracking. The iQue does not output data that the computer can use to determine its position for tracking purposes. The HotSync process is the only communications channel and does not have the ability to stay on continuously to transmit/receive data.
Q. Is the Secure Digital (SD) card a proprietary card? And what does MMC stand for?
A. No, the SD card is not a proprietary card. It is used with a wide variety of today's modern electronics and can be found at most electronic computer stores. MMC stands for "Multi Media Card" and is very similar to the SD standard. The iQue utilizes both SD and MMC card types.
- Can I use the Secured Digital (SD) slot to store mapping detail for the Que software?
Q. How do I activate the GPS on the iQue?
A. You can turn on the GPS by raising the antenna that is located on the back of the unit. When you do this, the unit will automatically begin searching for satellites. Once it has locked on to three or more satellites, it will pinpoint your location on the electronic map. You can turn the GPS off by lowering the antenna back into the unit.
Q. Can I load a European basemap onto my iQue without purchasing additional software?
A. The setup CD that comes with the iQue has the Atlantic Lite and Atlantic Standard basemaps for European coverage, as well as the Pacific Lite and Pacific Standard basemaps for Asian coverage. You can even select the Worldwide basemap. All of these can be downloaded to a SD card.
Q. How do I replace my iQue's stylus?
A. You may order replacements directly from Garmin's Online Store or over the phone (1-800-800-1020). The stylus are the same for the iQue 3200/3600/3600a. The iQue M3/M4/M5 uses a different stylus as well as the iQue 3000. Please make sure that the correct stylus for your unit is ordered.
Q. Why does the backlight on my iQue 3600/3200 keep turning off when I turn my unit off?
A. Most likely you may be holding the power button too long which in turn causes the back light to switch to the lowest setting. To turn the backlight off, press and hold the power button. Similarly, to turn it on, follow the same process. When you turn the power off, be sure to press and release the power button quickly rather than holding it in.
Q. Why is the green light on top of my iQue 3600/3200 flashing?
A. This is typically due to the battery in the unit being almost completely depleted. To correct this, plug the AC power cable in the bottom of the unit. Once it is plugged in, press and release the Reset button on the back of the unit (there is a reset tool built into the top of the stylus- simply unscrew the top of the stylus). Now, let the unit charge for about two hours. If there are any instructions on the screen, follow them. If there are no instructions, this means you may HotSync, and you will be up and running. If the light is still flashing, there may be further troubleshooting that needs to take place. For further troubleshooting please contact Garmin Technical Support at the following link: http://www.garmin.com/support/.
Q. My iQue 3200/3600 no longer produces any voice directions even though the volume is set to "high". Why?
A. The voice guidance files need to be re-loaded to your iQue unit. Insert your iQue setup disk and select ?Install Software?. Then select ?Change voice?. When the voice files are finished installing, perform a Hotsync. The voice guidance will then be restored to the unit.
Q. I currently own previous MapSource products and have installed my iQue and the MapSource North American City Select Software. Now, each time that I run MapSource and select North American City Select, I get a TDB_FirstBootRecord error. How can I resolve this?
A. Access our Software Updates section of our website and update your MapSource program to the newest version available. You should then be able to access the North American City Select v5 from within MapSource.
Q. Is it possible for the iQue 3600 to access the Internet?
A. There are several methods of accessing the Internet while using the iQue. First, use a serial modem cradle to connect through your desktop or laptop computer's Internet connection. Second, use a serial modem cradle that plugs into a standard phone line to connect to a remote ISP or dial-in (remote access) server. This second process is especially beneficial if you are away from your computer. Both processes are detailed in the iQue manual that is on the setup disk. Currently, the iQue 3600 does not support SDIO peripherals.
Q. Will the iQue work like my other Garmin GPS units?
A. The functions of the iQue are similar to other units, such as the StreetPilot III, but the iQue uses Palm software and Palm terminology. All the menus and functions of the iQue will be accessed with the stylus just like on a regular Palm device. It is easy to transition to a new iQue if you have used Garmin units and Palm devices.
Q. Can you use the Secured Digital (SD) slot to store mapping detail from the iQue?
A. Yes. You can use SD/MMC cards of all sizes to load detailed maps from your MapSource City Select software, MP3s (3600 only), etc. You may either save to the card while the card is in the iQue or while the card is in a SD card programmer.
If you want to store data on SD/MMC cards, you do need to do one HotSync with the card in the iQue before you attempt to write data to it.
Q. How do I turn up the volume of the speaker on my iQue? Is there an external speaker available?
A. To turn up the volume of your iQue, select the Volume icon/soft button at the bottom-right part of the screen. You'll be able to customize the sounds of the iQue. You may also order an Auto Navigation Kit from our Online Store. This kit includes a portable friction mount, automotive mount with remote 12-volt charger, and speaker system.

A. Although you may collect, save, and display the track log on the screen of an iQue, these units are not able to calculate the area of a track log or route.
Q. Can I perform a TracBack on an iQue?
A. Although you are able to collect, save, and display active and saved track logs on the screen of an iQue, the iQue does not contain the TracBack feature common to Garmin handheld GPS units. The iQue is similar to the autorouting StreetPilot III in that it requires you to enter a destination each time the unit is used to perform a GoTo. You do have the option of allowing the unit to calculate a route using either "faster time" or "shorter distance", or you can perform a direct GoTo, which is listed as "off road".
Q. How do I change the voice/language for autorouting on my iQue 3200/3600?
A. Insert the setup CD into the disk drive of your PC. Click "Install Software" on the Main menu. Select "Change Voice", and follow the prompts to install a different voice/language.
Q. Can I use my stylus to enter a Waypoint with my iQue 3200/3600?

Edit the name of the waypoint if you wish, and tap "OK" when finished. The waypoint will now be added to the list of waypoints stored in your iQue and as a contact on your PC when you next synchronize the two. Also, pressing and holding the thumbwheel for 2-3 seconds will result in the unit marking a waypoint at your current location.
Q. How long can I expect the iQue 3200/3600 to run on a fully charged battery?
A. Battery life between charges varies based on individual use patterns and which unit features are used. There are several different options that will effect the battery life of your unit. For example, frequently using the GPS function and the backlight will reduce battery life. You may expect approximately 2 weeks standby time or approximately 10 days if used an average of 30 minutes per day with backlight off. Battery life will also vary depending on the temperature of the environment in which the unit is used.
- Why is my iQue 3200/3600 not holding a charge for as long as the specifications suggest that it should?
Q. Why is my updated address list within Palm Desktop not visible after I have performed a HotSync operation?
A. Within the Palm Desktop, in the upper right-hand corner, you will find the "User" drop-down menu. Make sure that you have selected the correct user for the iQue you are trying to sync. The available address information will appear. Once you have the correct user selected, HotSync your iQue again to transfer your information.
Q. Can my old Palm PDA sync with my new Palm Desktop?
A. In most cases, you will be able to use the new version of Palm Desktop that comes on the setup CD to synchronize both your older Palm-based PDA and your new iQue. As long as you have created different user names for both of your PDAs, you will be able to use Palm Desktop with both units. However, the Que functions of the new Palm Desktop will not sync with your older PDA. They'll only sync with the iQue.
Q. Where are the games on the iQue 3200/3600? My Menu page is blank.
A. The games are included in the bonus software portion of the iQue setup disk. Other games are available on the Internet. Simply do a search using the keywords "Palm" and "games".
Q. Is there a way to adjust the brightness of the screen on the iQue 3200/3600?
A. Along the bottom of the screen of the iQue, you will notice the Applications Status Bar and several "soft buttons". The "Adjust Brightness" soft button is third from the right. Tapping this button will allow you to adjust the brightness of the iQue with your stylus by sliding the indicator to the left or right. While this will adjust the brightness, it does not change the contrast of the iQue. The backlight may also be turned on and off by pressing and holding the Power button for 2-3 seconds.
Q. How do I get the SD/MMC/microSD card out of the slot on the iQue?
A. The SD/MMC/microSD card in the iQue can be removed by pressing down on the card, and then releasing. The card will pop up so it can be pulled straight out of the unit.
- Can I use the Secured Digital (SD) slot to store mapping detail for the Que software?
Q. Does the iQue 3200/3600 support a NMEA protocol interface?
A. Unlike most of our GPS units, the iQue does not output NMEA data, which is often used for real-time tracking and autopilot systems.
Q. What kind of software applications can I download to my iQue 3200/3600?
A. The iQue has the ability to run a variety of applications that run on the Palm OS platform. Thousands exist, and many may be found by searching on the Internet. The application must be compatible with Palm OS 5 platform or later.
Q. Why do I keep getting a message stating the memory is full when loading maps to a SD card in my iQue 3200/3600? I know I have enough space.
A. You may have a file in the installation tool that is trying to load to the internal memory of the iQue. You will need to remove this file from the installation tool used by the Palm Desktop program.
To do this, open your Install Tool from your Palm Desktop. You may see two map files. One will say GMAPSUPP.PDB. The PDB on the end of this file means that it is ready to load to the internal memory of the unit. The other file is listed as GMAPSUPP.IMG. The IMG at the end of the file means it is ready to load to the SD card.
You cannot change the destination of the maps once they are in the install tool. Check the available internal memory on your unit. If the GMAPSUPP.PDB file is taking up more memory than you have free space for, you will need to remove it. Highlight the GMAPSUPP.PDB file, and then click on ?Remove?. Then click ?Yes? when you are asked if you are sure that you want to remove this file. Finally, run a hot sync. The map that you chose to load to your SD card will sync over.
- Can I use the Secured Digital (SD) slot to store mapping detail for the Que software?
Q. At what point will I need to purchase an external SD card to store maps onto?
A. Even though the iQue has a total of 32MB of internal memory, the Palm OS itself consumes about 10 MB of memory. This leaves about 22 MB of memory for mapping detail, additional programs, games, and pictures you may wish to store on the iQue. During your initial HotSync, this total is reduced to approximately 14 MB due to the installation of your basemap, voice guidance files, and other applications.
There are several basemap options to choose from, and your selection will dictate where it must be stored?internally or on an SD/MMC card. Furthermore, the number of additional detailed maps you wish to have access to may dictate the necessity for an external memory card. Also, MP3 files (iQue 3600 only) must be stored on a SD/MMC card.
SD/MMC cards may are found at most electronic retail outlets.
- Can I use the Secured Digital (SD) slot to store mapping detail for the Que software?
Q. Why am I unable to load detailed maps to my iQue 3200/3600 from the MapSource software as I do with my other Garmin GPS unit?
A. The iQue uses Palm OS and requires the HotSync Manager software to interface with your PC. To download maps, you will need to select the Map Install application within the Palm Desktop application. After selecting your mapsets using Map Install from within the Palm Desktop, you can download maps by pressing the Sync button on the iQue cradle. If you have MapSource installed on your computer, you may go to our Software Updates page to update your version of MapSource. The latest version (5.0 or greater) allows you to select maps within MapSource, creating a mapset to be synchronized with your iQue the next time you perform a HotSync.
Q. Why do I only see grid lines on the Map Page of my iQue 3200/3600? How can I fix this?
A. The basemap on the iQue 3200/3600 has either been disabled or the basemap file needs to be re-loaded to the iQue unit.
To see if the basemap is disabled, go to the "Map" page and tap the "Options" icon. Go to "Preferences". Tap "General" on the right of the screen and "Misc" from the drop down box. Basemap is the 3rd item listed. Make sure the box next to basemap is checked. If it is unchecked, tap the box to turn the basemap back on.
If the basemap is still not visible, the basemap file needs to be reloaded. To reload the basemap, insert the iQue setup disk and select ?Install Software?. Then select ?Change basemap?.
There are several basemap options to choose from, and this selection will dictate where it is stored?internally or on a SD/MMC card. The Lite options are stored internally, while the Standard and World options are stored on a SD/MMC card.
Q. Why does a different program launch when I press the Address button at the bottom of the iQue 3200/3600?
A. Any one application installed onto the iQue 3600 may be associated with one of the four buttons at the bottom of the iQue 3600. Pressing the button will then lauch the chosen application (such as QueFind, Address, Documents, etc). If you do not want a button associated with a program, you may change the association. Access the "All" menu, where you will find a list of all applications installed in the iQue 3600, and select "Prefs" (Preferences). Next, select "Buttons" from the drop-down menu in the upper-right-hand corner of the screen. Then, assign the buttons to applications from the drop-down menus, matching the picture of the button with the name of the program.
Q. Why is my iQue 3200/3600 not holding a charge for as long as the specifications suggest that it should?
A. If your iQue is not experiencing the expected battery life, the unit may need to be sent in for repair. If the warranty has expired, the battery replacement charge is $50.00 plus tax. If the iQue is still covered under warranty, there will be no charge for the repair.
