"Family uses Vista for Christmastime fun"

The night before Christmas, I wandered around the city, hiding clues and recording waypoints for my kids Andrea, age 11, and Daniel, age 7, to find their gifts. It took them nearly two hours to gather and follow to the next clue. Andrea had to follow the track recorded on her eTrex Vista, while her brother had to follow the compass arrow of his eTrex. This is easy for them, but before they could start their search, they had to look up a computer file. Santa left the directions for the file's location in their shoes. The file was saved in daddy´s computer, so they had to download the track logs and related waypoints to their handhelds first. I was pleased to drive according to their instructions. With very little help, they arranged to finally find their treasures.

Now, every time we go out to the beach, they invite their peers to find coins that daddy buries in the most strange locations. It's like having the sun shining, the kids laughing and the satellites whispering ... GPS has come to the rescue from boredom for sure!

"eTrex Vista is a snap to use"

Want a testimonial? I'll give you one. I have two (competitors') GPS units in my gun safe—for sale cheap, by the way. One of which led me three miles in the opposite direction of deer camp a few years back. Okay, I am not exactly a brain surgeon, but I shouldn't have to be to use a simple piece of navigation equipment. I own a computer company so I am not a total dummy.

I recently purchased a eTrex Vista. What a joy! Easy to operate, simple controls—I absolutely love the thing. The (MapSource) Roads and Recreation and TOPO software is great! Downloads work without a flaw and the unit accepts an incredible amount of data, much more than I expected. I just downloaded the entire route from Phoenix to L. A. and it took up very little memory in the unit.

I have never endorsed any product before like this, but this thing is beyond great. It took me about 10 minutes to read the manual and about 10 more minutes of playing with it to figure it out completely!  I never have figured out how to use the other units I have.

Looking for a GPS? Buy the (eTrex) Vista.

"eTrex Vista takes a tumble, keeps ticking"

I was out quading and mapping a new trail by Arrow Lakes, BC, at 6,780 feet elevation when I dropped my eTrex Vista down a 300-foot bank. It bounced down the steep bank and finally came to rest on some large rocks. I was amazed that I could find it, and thought for sure that it would need repair to work again—but it was working fine. I am very satisfied and impressed with your product. My friends are also impressed and interested in your products now.

Thank you .

"eTrex Vista guides journalist in Iraq"

I used my Garmin eTrex Vista during the war in Iraq as an embedded journalist. It withstood extreme conditions without fail. I was surprised to see many of the soldiers using the same product. In fact, the Air Force close air support officer and the Army forward artillery officer both used the Vista for calculating exact locations for attack. That means that lives (including mine) depended upon its accuracy. My unit suffered damage in early April when I broke the glass case while diving for cover during an Iraqi artillery attack on our position. The unit was hanging around my neck and I landed on it during the attack. However, it continued to operate as normal. Wish I could say the same about some of my other electronic equipment.
