Top Tournament Anglers to Receive 'Garmin® Grand'
OLATHE, Kan. — Garmin International Inc., a unit of Garmin
Ltd. (Nasdaq: GRMN), is pleased to add a cash incentive —
the Garmin
Grand Giveaway — to reward top anglers who use Garmin
sonar products when they fish the pro (boater) side of leading
tournament circuits. When these anglers win on the EverStart Series,
Wal-Mart Bass Fishing League, Texas Tournament Trail, or RCL Walleye
Circuit, they can count on an additional $1,000 cash prize from
Garmin.
"This is truly a win-win situation for boat owners,"
said Gary Kelley, Garmin's director of marketing. "Garmin
sonar products come with our patented See-Thru® technology and
Depth Gain Control (DCG®) that help anglers locate potentially
prize-winning fish hiding in structure or in thermoclines —
which, in turn, could land them a check for $1,000."
To be eligible for the Garmin Grand, a tournament angler must
have a Garmin sonar product installed on his boat. Qualifying
products include the FishFinder
100, FishFinder 160,
FishFinder 240, GPSMAP®
168 Sounder, or GPSMAP
185 Sounder. Co-anglers are not eligible.
Slated to begin in April, the Garmin Grand Giveaway will be
available at more than 100 fishing tournaments across the country
in 2001, creating a total jackpot of over $100,000 in cash incentives
for Garmin-owning anglers.
