OLATHE,
Kan. Garmin International, the leading manufacturer
of consumer GPS products, announces the introduction of
the GPS 12CX Garmin's first color handheld unit.
This 12 parallel channel receiver is similar to the extremely
popular GPS 12XL, but carries a number of advanced software
features including a point database of cities, exclusive
TracBack® navigation and graphic steering guidance. Even
more incredible, the GPS 12CX accomplishes all of these
things while providing a longer battery life -- up to 35
hours.
With
its new color LCD screen, users will be able to clearly
differentiate between nearby waypoints and tangled track-logs.
Characters, icons, numbers and letters will be displayed
in crisp red, green and blue.
"Garmin
has once again proven how advanced GPS technology can be,"
said Gary Kelley, director of marketing. "With the 12CX
we've combined waterproof construction, a color display
and 35 hours of operation to create a great new handheld
product."
The
GPS 12CX also features dedicated zoom keys for quick map
scaling. Additionally, new graphic interface will organize
your waypoints into an easily accessible tab-file system.
