Garmin® Avionics Now Available on Mooney Aircraft

OLATHE, Kan. – Garmin International, the aviation industry's leading GPS manufacturer, is pleased to announce an exciting new relationship with Mooney Aircraft Corporation. The aircraft company will offer Garmin products as an upgrade option on all Mooney airplane models including the Eagle, Ovation and Bravo.

Mooney customers who take advantage of the upgrade will have the choice of either single or dual Garmin GNS 430's for their panel. The GNS 430 is an integrated Nav/Comm/GPS with color moving map.

Besides its unique all-in-one box concept, the GNS 430 also offers a bright backlit display that's readable even in sunlight, two concentric knobs and a series of function buttons for the ultimate in easy operation. Other features include a high-contrast, four-inch diagonal color display, user configurable 8.33 kHz or 25 kHz spacing and WAAS upgradability. Even more amazing, the GNS 430 combines all of these features in a lightweight, six-pound package.

The GNS 430 has been certificated under six different TSOs, including the IFR GPS certification under TSO C129a (A1) for terminal, en route and non-precision approach operation.

The Garmin upgrade package will be available in all of Mooney's year 2000 models. Deliveries for those airplanes are scheduled to begin in October 1999.
