Garmin Announces Organizational Changes to Aviation Sales and Marketing Team

OLATHE, Kan./November 12, 2007/PR Newswire/ - Garmin International Inc., a unit of Garmin Ltd. (Nasdaq: GRMN), is pleased to announce organization changes within the aviation sales and marketing team. These changes are effective immediately and are designed to position Garmin’s aviation sector for continued expansion in all facets of the general aviation market.

We have experienced tremendous growth in the aviation market due to our wide-ranging and innovative products and our commitment to customers,” said Carl Wolf, Garmin’s senior director, aviation marketing and sales. “The individuals appointed to these positions will offer the necessary leadership to further expand Garmin’s general aviation presence while continuing to provide industry-leading customer support.”

Roger Dykmann has been promoted to the position of director of aviation OEM sales, Americas. In this position, Dykmann will oversee all aviation OEM sales team activities. Dykmann joined Garmin in 2006 as an OEM sales manager and was responsible for key accounts with several fixed wing aircraft and rotorcraft manufacturers. Prior to joining Garmin, he served at Honeywell where he held positions of increasing responsibility within engineering and marketing. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Kansas State University and a Master’s in Management from Baker University. Dykmann will report directly to Wolf.

Jim Alpiser has been promoted to the position of director of aviation aftermarket sales, Americas. Alpiser has been with Garmin for nearly a decade and is well versed in Garmin’s aftermarket and OEM aviation product lines and markets. Prior to this promotion, he held positions in Garmin’s consumer and aviation sectors, including serving over 3 years as an aviation regional sales manager and over 4 years as an aviation OEM sales manager for Garmin’s largest aviation customer. Alpiser graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He is an instrument rated pilot with over 1,100 flight hours. Alpiser will report directly to Wolf.

Tim Casey has accepted the newly created position of sales manager of portables, light sport aircraft and experimental aircraft markets. This position was created in response to the expansion Garmin has experienced in the light sport and experimental aircraft markets. Casey has been with Garmin for over 16 years. His vast knowledge of the aviation market and Garmin’s product line will be invaluable as Garmin develops new products and sales channels to expand these segments. Casey has served on many Aircraft Electronic Association (AEA) committees as well as AEA’s Educational Foundation Board of Directors. Prior to joining Garmin, Casey held senior positions at Northstar Avionics. Casey will report directly to Alpiser.

Dave Brown has accepted the position of sales manager of integrated flight deck retrofit programs. In this newly created position, Brown will focus on leading sales and marketing for Garmin’s King Air C90 and King Air 200 retrofit programs, as well as future unannounced programs. Brown will work directly with Garmin’s authorized G1000 retrofit dealers to educate customers and installation centers about the G1000 retrofit program. In addition, he will coordinate G1000 retrofit activities with Garmin Europe and Garmin Singapore. Brown has been with Garmin for over 13 years as a regional sales manager. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation Technology from Central Missouri State University and is a multi-engine and instrument rated pilot with over 5,000 flight hours. Brown will report directly to Alpiser.
