Appoints New Director of Recreational and Mobile Electronics Sales
OLATHE,
Kan. -- Garmin International, the world's leading GPS manufacturer,
is pleased to announce the appointment of Dan Bartel as Director
of Recreational and Mobile Electronics Sales. In his new position,
Bartel will be responsible for the sales and marketing of Garmin's
GPS and communication products to the OEM, marine, recreational,
wireless and automotive markets.
Prior
to his new position, Bartel served for more than five years as
the Marketing Director for Garmin Europe, located in Romsey, England.
"We
are extremely fortunate to have Dan assume this new role with
Garmin," said Gary Kelley, director of marketing. "He has done
an excellent job of managing our day-to-day operations in Garmin
Europe and helping us achieve tremendous success in that part
of the world. Now we are looking forward to Dan bringing that
same level of leadership to the areas of marine, recreational
and mobile electronics sales."
Bartel
brings more than 20 years of sales experience to his new position.
Before coming to Garmin, Bartel spent 14 years in various positions
with a major avionics company. During his employment with the
company, Bartel relocated to Europe where he concentrated on aviation
sales on a global scale. Prior to that, he had served as a United
States Air Force pilot for seven years. Bartel holds a degree
in electrical engineering from South Dakota State University.
Upon
his return to the United States, Bartel will reside with his wife
and children in Overland Park, Kan.
