Garmin® Navigation Chosen by National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car
OLATHE, Kan./January 4, 2007/PR Newswire — Garmin International Inc., a unit of Garmin Ltd. (Nasdaq: GRMN), today announced that National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car. will begin offering portable Garmin GPS navigation devices at more than 150 National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car locations throughout the U.S. and Canada. The agreement was announced in conjunction with the 2007 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
Based on Garmin’s popular StreetPilot c330, the unit features a simple touchscreen interface with automatic route calculation to any destination and turn-by-turn voice-prompted directions along the way. The navigator contains detailed maps of the U.S. and Canada – featuring addresses and nearly six million points of interest – including hotels, restaurants, gas stations, ATMs, and tourist attractions. Car rental locations for both National and Alamo are included in the unit’s database so drivers can easily route to a rental return facility.
