Garmin® Enhances Coverage, Detail with BlueChart® Version 5.5
OLATHE, Kan— Garmin International
Inc., a unit of Garmin Ltd. (Nasdaq: GRMN), today announced that
it will begin offering more coverage areas in greater detail
in its latest version of MapSource® BlueChart® marine
charting (version 5.5).

BlueChart (V. 5.5) is an updated CD-ROM for the Americas, Atlantic,
or Pacific that will include bathymetric charts and updated depth
contours, inter-tidal zones, spot soundings, wrecks, navaids,
restricted areas, cable areas, anchorages and many other points
of interest. The Americas version will feature all available
Canadian charts for the Great Lakes area, provided by Nautical
Data International, Inc. (NDI) — Canada’s leading
cartography provider.
MapSource BlueChart (V. 5.5) is also available in pre-programmed
data cards. BlueChart data is compatible with all Garmin marine
chartplotters, including the GPSMAP® 162/168, GPSMAP 182/188,
GPSMAP 232/238, GPSMAP 2006/2010, GPSMAP 176C, and the GPSMAP
196. The GPS V®, GPSMAP 76 series, iQue™ 3600, Rino® 120,
eTrex Legend® and eTrex Vista® also offer limited compatibility
with BlueChart.
The BlueChart Americas CD includes coverage of the East and
West coasts of the U.S., the Great Lakes, Gulf of Mexico, Alaska
and
Hawaii, the Caribbean, Canada, Central and South America. The
Atlantic CD includes the coastlines of Western Europe, the
North Sea, Mediterranean Sea, Adriatic Sea, Aegean Sea, Black
Sea and
Baltic Sea. Pacific coverage includes Australia and New Zealand.
The MapSource BlueChart (V. 5.5) update CD for the Americas
version will be available in late October, with a suggested
retail price
of $151.65. American pre-programmed regular-sized data cards
are available for a suggested retail price of $160.70. For
