Garmin® Helps Fishermen Improve Their Sport
New Fishing Hot Spots® CD-ROM leads anglers to the catch of the
day
Olathe, Kan. - Garmin International Inc., a unit of Garmin Ltd.
(Nasdaq: GRMN), a leading manufacturer of navigation, communication
and information electronics, announces a new CD-ROM that will
give anglers valuable data when it comes to finding fish
introducing MapSource®Fishing Hot Spots.
For more than two decades, fishermen have relied on the popular
Fishing Hot Spots paper map series to help identify the
best places to catch fish. Now, Garmin users will have access
to similar information via one convenient CD-ROM. The MapSource
Fishing Hot Spots CD contains detailed fishing information such
as depth contours, shorelines, and navigational aids like boat
ramps, marinas and campgrounds. Anglers will even find helpful
hints on the best type of lures to use when catching a particular
kind of fish and the best time of year to fish certain areas.
"Since MapSource Fishing Hot Spots information can be downloaded
directly onto a Garmin GPS, it is going to make it much easier
for fishermen to keep up on the latest lake information,"
said Gary Kelley, director of marketing, Garmin International.
"Garmin users will be able to turn on their GPS units and
have instant access to marked fishing areas, tips, techniques,
bottom conditions and many more valuable insights that will help
make for a successful fishing trip."
MapSource Fishing Hot Spots will interface with several of Garmin's
GPS products including the GPSMAP® 162, GPSMAP 168 Sounder, eMap®,
eTrex Legend™ and the eTrex Vista®. Like all MapSource CD-ROMs,
Fishing Hot Spots is compatible with Windows 95, Windows 98 and
Windows NT software.
Fishing Hot Spots will be available in March 2001 at a suggested
retail price of $116.65. The price includes access to one geographic
region of your choice. |
