Garmin® Offers Holiday Rebates on Portable GPS
Devices for Pilots
OLATHE, Kan. Garmin International Inc., a unit of Garmin
Ltd. (Nasdaq: GRMN), aims to make the holidays a little brighter
for pilots that have dreamed of owning a feature-rich Garmin aviation
portable. The company announced today that it will offer $50 and
$100 mail-in rebates
on the GPSMAP® 195 and
GPSMAP 295, respectively,
for purchases made between Nov. 1 and Dec. 31, 2001.
"Our aviation portables have long been the chosen companion
for general aviation pilots," said Gary Kelley, Garmin's
director of marketing. "This holiday promotion is an effort
to bring the convenience and reliability of GPS to more pilots
and to make it more affordable for them to own the industrys
leading portable devices."
And they have led the industry for one important reason: both
products have added safety to the flight plan by serving as a
quality back up for on-board navigation systems. The GPSMAP 195
is a proven navigator that combines the power of position and
mapping technologies to deliver vital Jeppesen®
data over a detailed basemap. Garmin pioneered this integrated
technology and inserted the GPSMAP 195 into the heart of its aviation
portable product line. Then the company took the best of that
GPSMAP 195 and added brilliant color and even greater situational
awareness to its next-generation GPSMAP 295. The company also
added a popular function to the GPSMAP 295 from its panel-mount
products the split-screen feature that makes it
possible for pilots to view primary navigation data and see their
position on a color moving map simultaneously. Garmin's GPSMAP
295 was the first portable to deliver WAAS capabilities to the
cockpit, giving pilots an enhanced picture of their vertical and
horizontal position along the flight path.
This holiday promotion is valid only for purchases made in the
United States and for units with an Americas database. This rebate
may not be used with any other offer. Rebate coupons are available
at the point-of-sale dealer or distributor and on Garmin's
corporate website www.garmin.com in the "Current
Promotions" section. All requests for rebates must be postmarked
by Feb. 1, 2002.
