Garmin Connect™ — Getting Started

Step 3. Pair & Send

Now it's time to establish a relationship between your computer, USB ANT stick and Garmin device for data transfer, and send your data to Garmin Connect.

After completing the previous step, you should see the Garmin ANT Agent icon in your dock.

1) Plug in your USB ANT stick. The Garmin ANT Agent icon changes, and the ANT Agent automatically begins searching for your device. To view the ANT Agent status window and see its progress, click the Garmin ANT Agent icon on the dock.

Search

2) Bring your Forerunner within 1 meter of the USB ANT stick. Press one of the buttons (not bezel) to put the device in active mode.

3) When the Garmin ANT Agent detects your device, it displays a unique number in a popup window and asks you if you want to pair. Click Yes. (Note: If you do not see the popup window, it may be hidden behind your browser page. If this happens, click the Garmin ANT Agent icon on the dock.) See troubleshooting if your Forerunner is not detected within 3 minutes.

4) Your Forerunner beeps and displays the same number the ANT Agent displayed. Select Yes on your Forerunner to complete the pairing process.

5) The Garmin ANT Agent asks you to name your device. Enter a descriptive nickname and click OK.

6. The Garmin ANT Agent receives data from your Forerunner. Select Authorize Now to authorize your Forerunner with Garmin Connect.

7) The Garmin Connect web page opens.  Enter your myGarmin username and password (see Getting Started). Click Authorize.

8) A popup window appears.  Click OK to transfer your data to Garmin Connect. (Note: You may have to minimize your web browser to see this popup window.)

You have now linked the Garmin ANT agent to your Garmin Connect account. From now on any new data in your Forerunner will be automatically received and sent to Garmin Connect by the Garmin ANT Agent.

9) Sign in to Garmin Connect to view your data.  To set your default time zone and measurement units, click Settings in the top right corner of the page and make any necessary changes.
