ANT+ Sport – Getting Started

Garmin ANT Agent™ allows you to transfer fitness data from your compatible Garmin device to your computer. Garmin ANT Agent detects any paired Garmin devices in range and automatically downloads fitness data to your computer. You can then transfer the data to Garmin Connect™ and Garmin Training Center®.

To pair with your Garmin device and transfer data:

  1. Select the "Garmin Connect Only" or the "Garmin Connect and Garmin Training Center" software package and follow the on-screen instruction to download the software. Garmin ANT Agent is included with both software packages. NOTE: If you need translated software, select the package with Garmin Training Center. Garmin Connect does not support translations at this time.
  2. Double-click the .exe file to run the installer. Follow the on-screen instruction to install the software.
  3. Bring your Garmin device within 5 meters of your computer. Garmin ANT Agent detects the device. If the device is not detected within 3 minutes, see Troubleshooting. NOTE: You must have a USB ANT stick connected to your computer for Garmin ANT Agent to pair with your Garmin device.
  4. Click Yes to initiate pairing.
  5. Accept the pairing on your Garmin device. See your device's owner's manual for more information. Garmin ANT Agent confirms the successful pairing.
  6. Enter a friendly name for the device, and click Continue.
  7. Garmin ANT Agent connects to the device and begins downloading data. The Garmin ANT Agent icon ANT+ Sport in the Windows system tray is animated while data is downloading.
  8. Select an option to automatically transfer data to Garmin Connect and Garmin Training Center (if installed). You can use the check box to automatically make this choice for future transfers. Click Continue.
  9. After downloading is complete, Garmin ANT Agent provides the option to delete data from your device. Select an option. You can use the checkbox to automatically make this choice for future downloads.
