  • eTrex® handheld GPS navigator.
  • GNS 530 integrated avionics system was introduced.

2000

  • Selective Availability terminated, increasing accuracy of GPS.
  • Garmin became publicly traded company, gaining financial backing to continue its growth.
  • Taiwan headquarters moved to Sijhih, Taipei.
