We are committed to providing updates for our marine cartography products. As updates become available, we will make every effort to ensure the areas of coverage for a given card remain the same. Updates may include new data or NTM (Notice to Mariners) changes.
When you purchase a new preloaded fixed-mount chartplotter, preprogrammed BlueChart® or preprogrammed LakeVü™ microSD™/SD™ card, you’re entitled to 1 free update¹ of the newest version of charts. Visit Marine Map Updates to get started. Updated charts will be for the same (or equivalent²) region as the original purchase.
If your chartplotter came preloaded with BlueChart g2 or LakeVü HD maps, you can update your maps for the most accurate navigation. Or, visit your Garmin dealer to purchase the preloaded map updates on a data card. Update cards are available for the GPSMAP 78, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 1000, 4000, 5000, 6000, 7000, 8000, and echoMAP 50/70 series devices as well as the Montana 600 and Oregon 400c.
If you have preprogrammed BlueChart or LakeVü microSD/SD cards, you can update your cards for a discounted price³. You can download the updates, or you can visit a participating Garmin dealer to purchase the update on a data card. Updated charts will be for the same (or equivalent²) region as the original purchase.
Examine your BlueChart g2 or LakeVü microSD card with SD adapter closely for damage immediately upon receipt. We will accept returned BlueChart or LakeVü cards within 10 days of the purchase date if the cards are found to be defective. Update programs are only available in the U.S. We require valid proof of purchase to be eligible for these programs. We reserve the right to modify or terminate marine update programs without notice.
