SUBJECT: MapSource®‘ United States Waterways & Lights

DESCRIPTION

Portions of the navigational aid data were found to have significant errors within sections of Coast Guard District Number 5, which encompasses New Jersey through South Carolina. The physical positions of the navigational aids appear to be correct. However, the details about each nav-aid have been mislabeled with incorrect information, including color, type, range, etc,.

Navigation aid data in these areas should not be used for any purpose.

A new data set for New Jersey through South Carolina has been processed. A new US Waterways & Lights CD ROM is currently available.

AFFECTED PRODUCT

MapSource‘ United States Waterways & Lights: Serial Numbers A0903821 through A0907080. Affected serial numbers were shipped from Garmin Olathe to customers between March 8, 2001 and May 10, 2001.
Version number 3.00 as shown on the CD ROM.

Note: Please disregard the Serial number of the MapSource CD found on the back of the CD case. This only affects those CD’s that are physically labeled Version 3.00WARRANTY INFORMATION

Please make every reasonable effort to notify customers that have purchased MapSource‘ US Waterways & Lights and retrieve the defective CD. Garmin anticipates availability of new data in about 4weeks. Garmin will provide the replacement data set at no additional charge upon return of affected product.

To have an affected MapSource‘ United States Waterways & Lights CD exchanged, please contact Cartography at
1-800-800-1020 (913-397-8200 outside of the USA) to be placed on the notification list. Once the new CD is available, you will be notified, and given a Return Authorization number and return shipping instructions for a replacement from the Garmin factory.
