Garmin believes that updates are an extremely critical issue for Marine Cartography, and we are committed to providing our customer with regular semi-annual updates. As updates occur, we will make every effort to ensure that the areas of coverage for a given card remain the same. Updates may include new data or NTM (Notice to Mariners) changes. Any changes can be viewed on the Garmin website for each card.

Preloaded BlueChart g2 Maps
Update the preloaded BlueChart g2 maps on your chartplotter to get the latest data available.
Visit: www.garmin.com/mapupdates
Simply enter the serial number or unit ID from your chartplotter or insert a prepared microSD/SD card into an SD card reader connected to your computer to check for available map updates. You can also visit your local Garmin dealer to purchase the preloaded BlueChart g2 map updates. Update cards are available for the GPSMAP 440/440s, 441/441s, 540/540s, 541/541s, 545/545s, 546/546s, 640, 720/720s, 740/740s, 750/750s, 4208, 4210, 4212, 5208, 5212, 5215, 6208, 6212, 7212, 7215, 78/78s/78sc, Oregon 400c.

BlueChart g2 or g2 Vision card updates

Update/Trade-in Program
Garmin will strive to offer semi-annual updates. If you own a BlueChart card that is outdated, or would like to purchase a card for a different coverage area, Garmin offers the following Update/Trade-In programs:

Update Program (all formats): return your old BlueChart g2 or g2 Vision card, any format, and receive a 50% discount towards Garmin's list price for any region that Garmin offers, regardless of size, for the same format (ex. g2 for g2, etc.). Only one update or trade-in per new BlueChart card is allowed

Upgrade from Traditional to BlueChart g2: return your traditional BlueChart data card, and receive a 30% discount towards Garmin's list price on any BlueChart g2 card that Garmin offers, regardless of size. Only one update or trade-in per new BlueChart g2 card is allowed.

Upgrade to BlueChart g2 Vision: return any traditional or g2 data card and receive a 25% discount toward Garmin's list price on any BlueChart g2 Vision card that Garmin offers, regardless of size. Only one update or trade-in per new BlueChart g2 Vision card is allowed.

Warranty Information
Your BlueChart g2 or g2 Vision microSD™ card with SD™ adapter should be examined closely for damage immediately upon receipt. Garmin will accept returned BlueCharts within 10 days of the purchase date if the card is found to be defective.

Buyer Protection Policy
If a BlueChart g2 or g2 Vision card is updated within 30 days of the original purchase date, you may receive one free update. The identification number and coverage area must remain the same. Garmin requires valid proof of purchase to be eligible for this program.

To return your BlueChart g2 or g2 Vision cards for an update contact Garmin cartography at 1-800-800-1020 or email at: cartography@garmin.com to obtain a Return Material Authorization (RMA) number. The return authorization number must appear on the outside of the shipping package, and the original card must be shipped freight prepaid to Garmin at: 1200 East 151st Street, Olathe, KS 66062.

These programs apply to the U.S. market only. These programs are not available through our European or Asian offices. All programs listed are available directly from Garmin U.S. to end-users only. Garmin requires valid proof of purchase to be eligible for these programs.
