BlueChart® g2 and g2 Vision® Update Programs

Updates are a critical issue for marine cartography. We are committed to providing regular, semi-annual updates for our marine cartography products. As updates become available, we will make every effort to ensure the areas of coverage for a given card remain the same. Updates may include new data or NTM (Notice to Mariners) changes. All changes included with each update will be listed on our website.

New Chart Guarantee

When you purchase a new preloaded fixed-mount chartplotter or preprogrammed BlueChart g2 or g2 Vision microSD™ card, you're entitled to 1 free update¹ of the newest version of charts. You can get the update on our website. Updated charts will be for the same (or equivalent²) region as the original purchase.

Discounted Card Update Program

Update your existing preprogrammed BlueChart g2 and g2 Vision microSD™/SD™ cards for a discounted price³. Updates can be downloaded on our website, or you can visit a Garmin BlueChart outlet dealer or purchase a gift card, if one is available. Updated charts will be for the same (or equivalent²) region as the original purchase.

BlueChart Card Trade-in Rebate Program

Receive up to $125 via mail-in rebate when you trade in your existing BlueChart card for any new BlueChart g2 or g2 Vision microSD/SD card.

If you own a traditional BlueChart, BlueChart g2 or BlueChart g2 Vision preprogrammed microSD/SD card, and you purchase any new BlueChart g2 or BlueChart g2 Vision preprogrammed microSD/SD card from an authorized dealer after Feb. 1, 2012, then you can receive a rebate. The amount of the rebate depends on the new card purchased.

Preloaded BlueChart g2 Maps

Update the preloaded BlueChart g2 maps on your chartplotter to get the latest data available. You can check for map updates on our website. You also can visit a Garmin dealer to purchase the preloaded BlueChart g2 map updates. Update cards are available for the GPSMAP® 78, 400, 500, 600, 700, 4000, 5000, 6000, 7000, 8000, and echoMAP™ series devices as well as the Montana® 600 and Oregon® 400c.

Warranty Information

Examine your BlueChart g2 or g2 Vision microSD card with SD adapter closely for damage immediately upon receipt. We will accept returned BlueChart cards within 10 days of the purchase date if the cards are found to be defective. Update programs are only available in the U.S. We require valid proof of purchase to be eligible for these programs. We reserve the right to modify or terminate BlueChart update programs without notice.

BlueChart g2/g2 Vision Copyright and Warning Requirements

¹Limit 1 free update per device or card. New Chart Guarantee valid within 6 months of purchase.

²Equivalent region to be determined at the sole discretion of Garmin. Customer will have an opportunity to view available coverage before purchasing and/or updating.

³Limit 1 discounted update, per card, per map version.
