Garmin Service Alerts are published to warn users of potential safety issues concerning Garmin products or software and specify corrective action. Garmin encourages its customers to contact their avionics dealer or their company's field-service engineering staff with any questions or concerns regarding these alerts.

When the display backlighting is set to the maximum level and the GMX 200 is operating in high temperatures there may be a noticeable color shift to some of the colors displayed on the unit. Garmin has identified an issue with the operation of 400W / 500W Series Units and VNAV guidance: When the operator performs a "direct-to" operation to one of the waypoints in the active flight plan and then sets up a vertical navigation profile (VNAV) to any point in the flight plan, the unit may not generate VNAV guidance or it may generate inaccurate VNAV guidance messages. In GDU 620 version 2.01 software, ILS glideslope information will only be displayed if the GDU 620 has valid GPS position information. It has been reported to Garmin that operators using Garmin GPS/WAAS equipped units have been experiencing GPS/WAAS receiver resets, resulting in a temporary loss of navigation. The problem may occur only during certain satellite conditions and only in latitudes north of 60°N that include WAAS coverage. The transition list contains a choice of vectors, published transitions, and initial approach fixes (IAF). In rare cases, the list contains two IAFs with the same identifier.
