Garmin recognizes that when its products have finished their useful lives, they become electronic waste. When electronics are not disposed of or recycled properly, certain materials in these products can present potential health and environmental problems. Recycling Garmin devices promotes the safe management of hazardous components and supports the recovery and reuse of valuable materials.
We recognize the need to minimize the environmental impact of our products. Accordingly, we have established or are establishing recycling systems in the U.S., Japan, Europe, China and other parts of the world.
Garmin welcomes the opportunity to contribute to the protection of human health and the environmentally sound recovery and disposal of electronic waste. Garmin aims to comply with Directive 2002/96/EC of the European Parliament and the WEEE (waste electrical and electronic equipment) Directive.
In addition, Garmin holds regular environmental meetings and monitors recycling trends to stay current with recycling needs, and to ensure compliance in other countries.
In accordance with Article 11 of the WEEE Directive, upon request, Garmin will provide the information needed by reuse centers and treatment and recycling facilities to comply with the provisions of the WEEE Directive in the reuse, treatment or recycling of Garmin products covered by the WEEE Directive.
